TOKYO, April 7, 2008 – Nikon-Trimble
Co., Ltd. introduced today the NPR-302 Series of Nikon® Total
Stations—high precision, long-range reflectorless mechanical
total stations with laser pointers. Each new model in the series
offers superior Nikon optics, performance and reliability, making
them ideal for a variety of surveying applications. The new Nikon
products are expected to be available in April 2008 through Nikon
- Spectra Precision distributors.
“The new Nikon total stations extend functionality
and performance advantages for virtually any type of surveying
application,” said Frank Dorenkamp, business area manager
of the Nikon – Spectra Precision survey brands. “The
accuracy, reliability and ease of use make them a valuable positioning
tool for surveyors conducting topographic data collection, stakeout
or layout jobs, cadastral boundary surveys and more.”
The Nikon NPR-302 Series offers three models,
the Nikon NPR-362, NPR-352 and NPR-332 and features 3” and
5” angle accuracy models. The Nikon NPR-302 Series offers
a distance measurement accuracy of up to ±(2 + 2 ppm x D)
mm. Nikon uses a patented technology to providing long distance
reflectorless measurement range of up to 300 meters (1,000 ft.).
As a result, surveyors reduce the need for multiple set-ups by
utilizing the flexible measuring techniques of the Nikon NPR-302
Series. In addition, the series reflectorless technology eliminates
the need to focus on the target allowing for faster, more efficient
data collection. This makes it possible to measure difficult or
dangerous locations even more safely and efficiently. In addition,
the coaxial laser pointer assists with target identification which
reduces aiming time.
The intuitive and user-friendly onboard software
of the Nikon NPR-302 Series offers a wide range of data collection,
field coding, Cogo and survey stakeout applications. An
ergonomic alphanumeric keyboard, with large user-definable keys,
provides fast, one-touch access to the functions which are used
the most. Perform surveying tasks quickly and efficiently allows
surveyors to increase productivity in the field. The Nikon NPR-302
Series also features a large internal memory. Up to 10,000 records
can be stored and a maximum of 32 jobs can be created to manage
the data.
The Nikon NPR-302 Series is compact and lightweight,
weighing only 5.0 kg (11 lbs.) Meeting IP56 standards with water
and dust proof protection, the Nikon NPR-302 Series are rugged
and can operate in virtually all types of weather. The single,
onboard battery provides up to 16 hours of continuous distance
and angle measurements, or 30 hours of service.
